Keys are sent only to the provider they belong to. They stay in this browser unless you switch on sync below.
Your keys get encrypted in this browser with a passphrase, and only the encrypted result is stored. Sign in somewhere else, type the same passphrase, and your keys are there. Nobody who reaches the database — us included — can open it without that passphrase.
